About me

I started genealogical research in the early 2000s, and worked on several archival and antiquarian projects the following years.

Besides my studies at the Universtiy of Innsburck, Austria, I had the
pleasure of learning from my dear, long-time mentor, Dr. Peter
Adelsberger, who taught me all he knows about historical and archival work at Antiquariat Gallus (www.gallus.co.at).

I majored in Comparative Literature with a minor of Art History at the University of Innsbruck, Austria. Currently I am working on my master thesis in Media Sciences there.

I split my time between Innsbruck and Vienna, so I have access to the huge amount of archives in these culturally rich cities.

My first genealogical project was, of course, researching my own family tree: My family’s branches reach out to all parts of the Tyrol, Carinthia, Bavaria and the state of Salzburg. Early on I realised there is a history of migration in my family, which in turn widened the scope of my research.
As you may have experienced yourself, finding out about the history of one’s family opens up a never ending wealth of stories, side branches and fascinating paths, that only get more exciting as you dig deeper.

After several years as a professional in archives, my years with
antiquarian experts at Gallus in Innsbruck, an Art History exhibition-project at the University of Innsbruck (http://gegenwelten.eu), and working on other cultural projects in my hometown of Innsbruck, I started to offer my historical and paleographical knowledge as a freelancer.
